We are unable to run sewing courses at our studio due to our other business which does not lend itself to a sewing space which is a clean as I would like.
I am however able to offer these courses externally if you have the space and a group that wishes to learn. Please email me for more information

as well as advanced Patchwork and Quilting courses tailored to your requirements
On this two day course you will learn all the basic techniques to make your own quilt and go home with a finished cot quilt or bed runner. You will learn to safely use a rotary cutter and quilting ruler, fabric selection and cutting, machine piecing your project, techniques to put your quilt together and baste it ready for quilting, machine quilting techniques and how to bind and finish your project.
The day starts with tea & coffee and a getting to know your fellow students. You will then prepare your fabric and learn how to use a rotary cutter safely whilst cutting your fabric into squares for your quilt. We will lay the quilt out and prepare for piecing the quilt. You will stitch all the patched together learning how to make them accurate and give beautiful points. By the end of the first day you will have a finished quilt top which will be laid out with wadding & backing ready to baste. We will have a lunch break with lovely oven jacket potatoes and a choice of fillings and afternoon cake & tea.
On the 2nd day you will baste youtr quilt and prepare for the quilting process, we will look at examples and decide the best type of quilt design for your project. You will then learn how to prepare your quilt for ease of quilting and learn how to set your machine up perfectly to get the best results. Once you quilt has been quilted you will trim & make your own professional looking binding and sew it to your quilt with beautiful mitred corners. You will finish the day learning how to neatly hand finish the binding which you will complete at home.
Along the way you will learn all the quilting jargon as well as what equipment you will need to buy and some other simple techniques such as applique. This is a comprehensive course with full notes to take home with you and plenty of time to learn and enjoy the company of other new quilters.
Wadding is provided all you need to bring is 1/2 metre of 3 different Patchwork fabrics and an additional half metre of a corresponding fabric for binding, 1.5m of fabric for the back, plus thread for quilting
Sewing machines and all equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own machine to learn on.
